The International Olympic Committee has just announded that Vanuatu rower Luigi Teilemb has qualified for this year’s Rio Olympics to be held 5–21 August.

Luigi has qualified to compete in the Men’s single sculls events at the Games.

The Vanuatu Rowing Association says that Luigi’s achievement was assisted by coach Matt Cameron, friends in New Zealand and Australia and the VRA’s main sponsor, National Bank of Vanuatu.

This is a tremendous event for Vanuatu sport – an opportunity for Vanuatu’s youth to witness how the Olympic dream can be attained through hard work, team work and dedication.
